Webinar Recording: October 2025
Power & Process Plant Boat Sampling and Quantitative Life Assessment of High Value Critical Components and Innovations in Plant Inspection
Presented by:
Dr. Ahmed Shibli (Director)
Dr. David Robertson (Plant Integrity Lead)
In this webinar, Dr. Ahmed Shibli and Dr. David Robertson discuss the critical challenges in plant life management and present cutting-edge solutions for accurate condition assessments of industrial components.
Key highlights of this webinar include:
- EDSE (Specialized Scooping Equipment): Enables in-situ sample extraction from metallic components with negligible structural damage and no need for weld repairs, offering a significant improvement over traditional methods.
- Ultra-Miniature Specimen Testing (from 1mm thick scoop samples): Offered by ETD for critical components where wall thickness loss is a major concern.
- Low Frequency Electromagnetic Technique (LFET) & Balanced Field Electromagnetic Technique (BFET): Advanced fast scanning techniques to identify areas of wall thinning and crack-like indications in boiler tubes. These areas can then be inspected using ultrasonic techniques, saving inspection time and costs.
